DOWN PAYMENT AND REHABILITATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR HOCKING AND PERRY COUNTIES
Hocking . Athens . Perry Community Action announces that financial assistance is available to pay for the down payment and closing costs associated with the purchase of a home. Funds for this program are provided through the Hocking and Perry County Community Housing Improvement Program. Homes purchased through this program also qualify for rehabilitation assistance to correct any structural deficiencies and to upgrade electrical, plumbing and heating systems. Home rehabilitation assistance is also available to current home owners. Eligible families can receive up to $32,000 of assistance.
Homes must be located in either Hocking or Perry County and applicants must meet income guidelines. Home buyers must agree to complete a homebuyer counseling course. The maximum annual income for a family of four is $41,450. Income guidelines are adjusted according to family size. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
