EMERGENCY
HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (E-HEAP) BEGINS NOVEMBER 1ST

Community Action will begin its Emergency Home Energy Assistance
Program (E-HEAP) Wednesday, November 1st. This program is
designed to help families who are facing an emergency situation
maintain and/or restore electric/gas service or provide a bulk fuel
(propane, wood, coal, fuel oil, kerosene). An emergency situation
is defined as having a disconnect notice on your electric or gas,
or having less than a 10 day supply of bulk fuel. This assistance
is available only once per heating season.
To qualify you must be
income eligible and be in an emergency situation, as defined above.
Applicants must present verification of three months income, Social
Security numbers for all family members, proof of disability (if
applicable), as well as copies of their utility bills.
Appointments are highly
recommended. A very limited amount of first-come,
first-serve openings will be available on a daily basis. To

In addition, the Regular
State Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is available for those
who are income eligible but not in an emergency situation.
The assistance will help clients pay their primary heating bills
and balances. Applications for the Regular State HEAP are
available at Community Action offices in Hocking, Athens, and Perry
counties, local Post Offices, libraries, senior centers, and various
county agencies. If you need help filling out the State HEAP
