Dental Services/Oral Health Program

This program has ended.

The Hocking.Athens.Perry Community Action Agency received a grant from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation to implement an Oral Health Referral and Education Program in Hocking and Perry Counties. The program operated with great success and served numerous prospective clients in need of dental care in these counties.

Our program was been funded to help educate and improve the overall oral health of the residents in the Hocking and Perry County communities. We assisted our clients in scheduling their dental appointments and locating a dental office to work with them financially. The program worked with 20 dental providers in the central and southeastern part of the state.

The program also provided transportation to and from the dental offices and educated youth and adults on the importance of oral health examinations and proper dental hygiene. Our dental health specialist performed presentations and passed out complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and brochures about our program to the many Head Starts, elementary, middle, and high schools in these communities.
