Housing Services and Issues
Home Repair
A variety of home repair programs are available in the tri-county area. Repairs are typically limited to one or two health and/or safety items. Eligibility is based on household income; however, income guidelines are different depending on the specific program. These services are not available for rental units and in some cases mobile homes do not qualify. For information regarding application procedures, income guidelines, waiting lists, etc., please call 740-753-3062.
Housing Rehabilitation
Rehab programs are currently available in each of our counties. Rehab services provide comprehensive repairs/upgrades to homes and address all of the major electrical, mechanical and heating systems as well as structural deficiencies. Eligibility is based on household income. These services are not available for rental units and mobile homes do not qualify for assistance.
Homebuyer Assistance
Assistance is available to help prospective home buyers with their down payment. Eligibility is based on household income. Currently there is assistance available in Hocking County, Perry County and the City of Athens. Families that receive down payment assistance will also receive home rehabilitation services. Information on application availability, income guidelines, etc. can be obtained by calling 740-753-3062.
Fair Housing Consortium
A Fair Housing Consortium has been established to provide services to Hocking, Athens and Perry Counties to ensure compliance with Community Development Block Grant fair housing regulations. Services are designed to prevent discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability and family status.
